At this time of year, there is a ton of artistic and artisanal activities to discover in the Laurentians. We have put together a quick list of events that are currently taking place or that will soon take place in the regions of Val-David, Morin-Heights, Saint-Jérôme and Sainte-Adèle. You will quickly find that there is nothing boring about the Laurentians during the summer season. There are numerous activities to discover near our auberge and nordic spa in the Laurentians.

Artistic and artisanal activities to discover in the Laurentians

1001 Pots

The 1001 Pots exhibition features Quebec ceramists’ contemporary work. The 29th edition of this exhibition will take place from July 7th to August 13th, 2017, from 10am to 6pm. It’s on a charming site of the quaint Village of Val-David that you will have the opportunity to see the ceramists’ craftwork, that comes in various formats and genres. There is something for everyone: from garden and kitchen work, to everything that has to do with tableware, the art of tea, sculpture, jewellery, children creations, interior design, and more.

Allée des Créateurs

Still in the Village of Val-David, the Allée des Créateurs is an outdoor exhibition and sale. The heart of the Village of Val-David is turned every year into a beautiful promenade on which artisans of talent exhibit and sell their unique and original creations. The Allée des Créateurs at Val-David will be held from Saturday, June 3rd, to Monday, October 9th, 2017, from 10am to 6pm.

Annual Contest at the Maison des arts et de la culture Saint-Faustin

This year is the 21st edition of the Annual Contest at the Maison des arts et de la culture Saint-Faustin. This event aims to highlight and to recognize the great talent of local artists, which consist of both amateurs and professionals. You will be able to have access for free to their work from June 10th to August 12th, 2017.

The Murales des Pays d’en Haut

Come see The Murales des Pays d’en Haut at Sainte-Adèle for a visual and artistic journey through the region’s history. The City of Sainte-Adèle will offer you a free guided carriage tour of the murals. It is however required that you make a reservation before the tour starts. This activity takes place every Thursday and Sunday, from June 25th to August 13th, 2017.

Saint-Jérôme Arts and Crafts Fair

The Saint-Jérôme Arts and Crafts Fair will be held at two different locations simultaneously, namely at the Vieille-Gare as well as at the Hôtel de région, from November 10th to November 12th, 2017. Professional artists in the fields of visual arts and fine crafts will be exhibiting and selling their work. The Fair will be accessible free of charge on Friday, from 12pm to 9pm, and on Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 5pm.

Blainville Arts and Crafts Fair

Artisans and creators of the region of Blainville will also be celebrated, at the Blainville Arts and Crafts Fair. It will take place from Friday, November 24th, to Sunday, November 26th, 2017, at the region’s Community center. You will be able to access the Fair for free on Friday, from 1pm to 9pm, and on Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 5pm.

Le P’tit Fest du Nord 2017

In partnership with the Public Art Festival MURAL, the City of Saint-Jérôme presents Le P’tit Fest du Nord, on August 25th and 26th, 2017. This event will take place as part of the inauguration of the Place des festivités, which is precisely where the festival will be held. The 2017 program includes Bernard Adamus, the Dead Obies, Alaclair Ensemble, We Are Wolves, Loud, Corridor, and many more.

Les Beaux Dimanches in Val-David

The Village of Val-David, which is obviously not lacking in activities, also offers the weekly event Les Beaux Dimanches in Val-David. Organized by the municipality of Val-David and Les Créateurs de rêves, this cultural event consists of outdoor artistic workshops. As the name suggests, Les Beaux Dimanches are held every Sunday, starting at 1pm, from July 30th to September 10th, at the petite gare. The activity is free of charge, but you need to register on site 30 minutes before the start of the workshop.

Arts Morin Heights

Come visit Morin-Heights and take a moment to go see the collective of artists Arts Morin Heights, which consists of 35 members from everywhere in the Laurentians and from many disciplines, including watercolors, oil and acrylic paints, stained glass, pottery, and wood. Make the most of the summer season by treating yourself to one of their private or group painting workshops.

Festival des Contes maltés in Val-David

At the Festival des Contes Maltés in Val-David, you will find storytelling, poetry and music shows, as well as local microbrewery beer tasting. Don’t miss this event, where you will also meet local artisans, on Saturday, September 9th, 2017.

Quartier littéraire 2017

From September 1st to 10th, 2017, the first edition of Quartier Littéraire de Sainte-Adèle will take place at the Claude-Henri-Grignon park. This outdoor cultural activity in the heart of the Laurentians will give you the opportunity to participate to various literary arts workshops. Don’t miss this culture rich event, where you will make significant encounters.

Auberge and Spa in the Laurentians
